Nestled in the calm, turquoise waters of the
northwestern Caribbean lies the peaceful British Overseas
Territory known as the Cayman Islands. Consisting of three
islands just 480 miles south of Miami, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac,
and Little Cayman. Grand Cayman is by far the
biggest, with an area of 76 square miles. The two "Sister
Islands" of
Cayman Brac and
Little Cayman are located about
80 miles east of Grand Cayman and have areas of 14 square miles
and 10 square miles respectively. The
capital George Town, on Grand Cayman is located near latitude
19° 30N, longitude 80° 30W. |
